SOAR: MSU's Window to the Universe

The Southern Astrophysical Research (SOAR) telescope is a 4.1 meter reflecting telescope observing in the visible and infrared wavelengths from one of the world's premier astronomical sites, Cerro Pachon in Chile. The SOAR telescope is operated by the U.S. National Optical Astronomy Observatory (NOAO) for the SOAR consortium, which consists of Michigan State University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NOAO, and Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia, e Inovação (MCTI) da República Federativa do Brasil.
